"We expect to continue seeking strategic growth opportunities for Sunrise through new development, and look forward to refining our offerings to meet the growing demands in the market place."

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sunrise Senior Living, LLC, a leading provider of senior living services, today announced it is moving forward with construction on two new communities that will offer Assisted Living and Memory Care programs to seniors and their families. The new communities, Sunrise of Burlingame, Calif., and Sunrise of Dublin, Ohio, are expected to begin serving residents in the summer of 2015.

“We are very pleased to bring Sunrise’s leading product and programs to these two new communities, and in doing so, restart our development efforts so even more families will benefit from our more than 30 years of experience in serving seniors with high-quality, personalized care,” said Chris Winkle, Sunrise’s chief executive officer. “We expect to continue seeking strategic growth opportunities for Sunrise through new development, and look forward to refining our offerings to meet the growing demands in the market place.”

Sunrise of Burlingame will be a four-story community, located on Trousdale Drive, just two blocks off of El Camino Real and convenient to area health care centers. Sunrise of Dublin, located on Stoneridge Lane, will be a three-story building near many medical office buildings and retail locations. Both communities will have approximately 80 units and feature flexible spaces to accommodate a variety of Memory Care neighborhoods and programs. Additional enriched community features are expected to include Wi-Fi connectivity throughout, electronic health record systems, enhanced perimeter security and e-call systems, as well as custom-designed furnishings and décor.

Sunrise’s Assisted Living is designed for seniors who want to maintain their independence, yet need some assistance with their daily activities such as bathing, dressing and medication reminders. Sunrise’s team of Designated Care Managers support residents through a tailored plan of wellness defined by an individualized service plan. Sunrise’s well-known Memory Care programs, including those in its secure Reminiscence Neighborhoods, focus on understanding the needs of each senior and providing them with a comfortable and safe environment in which they can find meaning and purpose. Sunrise is an Authorized Validation Organization, where our team members receive specialized training on how best to communicate with and care for those with memory loss.
