Sunrise Senior Living is based in McLean. The company has another facility in Alexandria, at 3520 Duke St. just west of the intersection of Duke Street and Quaker Lane. The architect for the new complex is Rust | Orling Architecture, which has an office on Cameron Street in Alexandria.

Sunrise Senior Living, in a statement on its Alexandria development website, said, "This community will provide a supportive environment in a convenient location for surrounding families who want to be near their aging loved ones."
